Well, I can't believe it. Today, March 9th is my 26th birthday. I honestly don't feel anywhere near this age...I still feel about 21/22 ;) Regardless, I am getting older & life is still going to go on, keep passing. So I am going to own this year, this age. Maybe some of the biggest changes of my life will end up happening on this 26th year. Who knows? We shall see....
Anyhow, for a mani to go along with my birthday celebration, I wanted something loud, something really bright...and yes a little glittery! So I am loving China Glaze "Flip Flop Fantasy" right now. I love this neon pink with coral/orange undertones...it is BRIGHT! I painted these earlier this week to celebrate the impending anniversary of my birth all week long. Every girl should celebrate her birthday at least all week long! I won't talk much about this because it's pretty simple....I used OPI Nail Envy for my basecoat. I did need at least 3 coats of the China Glaze. It's got almost a "chalky" formula and, like a lot of ChG colors Ive noticed, dry matte. It was pretty streaky still after 2 coats. After I let those 3 coats dry, I used a makeup applicator sponge to do a cuticle glitter gradient with Ulta "Piñata-Yada-Yada" (a pretty good multicolor dupe of Deborah Lippman's "Happy Birthday") This one doesn't have square glitters like DL's & has smaller hexagon shaped glitter pieces. But for $6 and get another Ulta polish free, its pretty darn great!
Here comes a buttload of photos because I can't help myself...it's my birthday y'all ;D
after 3 coats & no topcoat. you can see how it dries kind of matte
just after finishing sponging on the glitter
Now after applying the glorious Seche Vite topcoat!
Hope you liked my loud bright party nails I created to celebrate my birthday!
...and a big shoutout to all my fellow fabulous PISCES out there!
